BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – An emergency response nearly turned deadly for law enforcement late Tuesday night when two Baton Rouge police officers were met with gunfire as they arrived at a scene in the 2600 block of Vanderbilt.
Police responded to a 911 call just before midnight but were ambushed as they exited their cruisers, according to the Baton Rouge Police Department.
The suspect opened fire, with three shots discharged during the encounter.
