New Baton Rouge education and wellness hub to offer resources to residents

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A new education and wellness hub in Baton Rouge will offer resources for people seeking to enter the workforce or in need of health care services.

The Louisiana Leadership Institute (LLI) and ConnectLA had a groundbreaking ceremony for the new hub Friday. The project is a 1,000-seat outdoor amphitheater supported by the GUMBO 1.0 program. The program helps communities address online learning gaps, job instability and limited access to health care and reliable internet, according to a news release.

“Louisiana is going to keep turning federal dollars into real projects on the ground, and I want to thank President Trump and the Louisiana delegation for helping secure the resources that make this work possible,” said Gov. Jeff Landry. “With broadband powering this hub, we’re supporting workforce training and education programs that build skills, drive economic growth and help Baton Rouge compete.”…
