Fire intentionally set at vacant Baton Rouge home, investigators say

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Investigators say a fire at a vacant Baton Rouge home on Wednesday evening was intentionally set.

According to the Baton Rouge Fire Department, crews responded around 4:57 p.m. on Feb. 18 to a reported fire at a single-family home in the 1500 block of Gwen Drive.

Firefighters arrived to find a carport fully engulfed in flames. Due to the size of the fire, crews initially believed the home itself may also be burning. After knocking down the flames, firefighters determined the fire was limited to the carport area…
