A strong cold front heading to the Baton Rouge area this weekend will drop temperatures to near freezing by Monday night, before another warmup begins next week, a National Weather Service meteorologist said Friday.
“The cold front will break up the warm and humid pattern we’ve had in recent days,” said Tyler Stanfield, a meteorologist with the NWS Slidell office. “It’s a reminder we’re not quite out of the winter, yet.”
