ADDIS, La. (WAFB) – An 11-year-old from Addis has been named a national champion by the Children’s Miracle Network, joining 19 other children selected from across the country as patient ambassadors for their local Children’s Miracle Network hospitals.
Jensen LeBlanc was diagnosed with croup and stridor — a rare disorder that makes it difficult to breathe — when he was seven months old. He was first named a local champion at Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital in 2023 and 2024 before being nominated and selected for the national stage.
“I was in shock. I could not speak for over several minutes. And then whenever he said, does he want to be it? I was like, yes. I screamed yes. And my emotions had changed from then,” LeBlanc said.
