Baton Rouge father accused of whooping daughter with belt over bad grades

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — An investigation by the Baton Rouge Police Department into injuries suffered by a 6-year-old girl concluded with her father in custody.

Charles Evans, 33, of Baton Rouge, was charged with cruelty to juveniles.

BRPD was contacted by the Department of Child and Family Services on Friday, Feb. 13, regarding an investigation.

Police went to a hospital in Baton Rouge and interviewed the girl. She stated that on Sunday, Feb. 8, her father whooped her because of bad grades…
