BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – A convicted drug dealer is back behind bars after a recent drug bust where over 280 lethal doses of Fentanyl were allegedly seized.
According to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office, deputies began investigating Marcus Clayton, 49, in January after receiving a tip that he was distributing prescription pills through the Baton Rouge area.
Deputies said they were familiar with Clayton from a narcotics investigation in 2020, where he pleaded guilty to two counts of PWITD Schedule II. He reportedly received five consecutive years on each count and served three years from 2022 to 2025.
As part of the new investigation in 2026, agents said they conducted two controlled purchases of prescription pills from Clayton and identified three homes in Baton Rouge that he used for his narcotics trafficking…
