BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Middendorf’s Seafood Restaurant is bringing its kitchen to Baton Rouge for the first time in the restaurant’s 91-year history.
Owner and Chef Horst Pfeifer will stage a two-week pop-up at Passé Restaurant inside the Origin Hotel, located at 101 St. Ferdinand St. The event is described as a full kitchen takeover by the Manchac-based restaurant, known as the “Home of the World Famous Original Thin Fried Catfish®.”
Dates, hours and menu
The pop-up runs March 17–20 and March 24–27, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Middendorf’s will serve lunch and dinner with a limited menu featuring the restaurant’s signature Thin Fried Catfish and other dishes. On pop-up days, Passé will operate for breakfast only from 7 to 10:30 a.m.
“We get asked all the time to build a Middendorf’s location in Baton Rouge. Well, this is the next best thing,” Pfeifer said. “This is really exciting to be doing a pop-up at Passé Restaurant. We hope to see our regulars who travel out to Manchac, along with plenty of new faces who can finally get a taste of our Thin Fried Catfish. It’s going to be a true adventure, and we’re ready for it. Look out, Baton Rouge. Here we come!”…
