Man wanted by Baker Police arrested in drug investigation by Baton Rouge PD

BATON ROUGE — Baton Rouge Police arrested a man after executing a search of the home he was in and finding a variety of narcotics and stolen weapons. The man has an active warrant through Baker Police, as well.

As part of an ongoing investigation, on March 3rd, the BRPD Special Investigations Unit along with BRPD Special Response Team, executed a search warrant at an address in the 6000 block of Blue Grass Drive.

Norman Gibson was arrested and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for:

  • Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II (2 counts)
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Illegal Carrying Firearm with Controlled Dangerous Substance
  • Illegal Possession of Stolen Firearms (2 counts)
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
  • Fugitive Warrant (Baker Police Department)

During their search, detectives seized the following:

  • Approximately 86 grams of crack
  • Approximately 66 grams of cocaine
  • Approximately 3 grams of marijuana
  • $17,149.00 in U.S. Currency
  • A Ruger 9mm handgun reported stolen through BRPD
  • AKLYS Defense Multi Cal AR Pistol reported stolen through Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office

At the time of his arrest, Gibson had an active warrant through Baker Police Department for the following charges: Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling, Battery of a Dating Partner, Child Endangerment and Aggravated Assault…
