A Baton Rouge man, who beat his daughter to death in 2022 while disciplining her, pleaded guilty to reduced charges Monday and received 80 years in prison.
Aaron Hawkins, 27, who was offered multiple plea deals since the beginning of his trial, finally agreed to a guilty plea of manslaughter and second-degree cruelty to a juvenile this week. He received a 40-year prison sentence for each charge.
