I-TEAM: Suspect in I-10 fiery crash captured

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Just days after an exclusive investigative report from the WAFB I-TEAM that detailed a manhunt for an indicted DUI suspect, that suspect has now been taken into custody out of state.

Louisiana State Police confirm Manmeet Singh was arrested in Madison, Mississippi Friday afternoon, months after a St. John the Baptist Parish grand jury indicted him on a charge of vehicular homicide.

Investigators say Singh was driving drunk the wrong way on I-10 in LaPlace in September when he crashed head-on into a car driven by 21-year-old Patricia Saidu of Baton Rouge. Both vehicles caught fire, and Saidu died.

Saidu had recently graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana and had planned to become a pediatrician. Her family has said she came from a family of doctors and wanted to dedicate her life to caring for children…
