Vacant church in Baton Rouge destroyed by fire

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Fire crews responded to a fire at a vacant church in Baton Rouge Thursday afternoon.

According to the Baton Rouge Fire Department, the stairwell and steeple area of the empty Faith A.M.E Zion Church on Thomas H. Delpit Drive was on fire after 5 p.m. The fire department reported that the roof was significantly damaged, and the building is considered a total loss.
