Baton Rouge man convicted in killings of two women in abandoned apartment, 7 months apart

Jurors found a Baton Rouge man guilty Friday night on reduced charges for the killings of two women found in the same abandoned apartment unit, seven months apart.

Police originally believed the first victim, 26-year-old Christina Hobbs, had shot herself on Dec. 26, 2022, and only marked the defendant, 37-year-old Cedric Lang, as a person of interest.

Lang remained free, and prosecutors said he returned to squatting at the same abandoned unit at the Florida Vista apartment complex where Hobbs’ body was found. They said a second woman moved into the room with him…
