‘God blessed me with another chance’: Baton Rouge man once left for dead now helping break cycle of youth violence

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – After surviving violence and incarceration, a Baton Rouge man is turning his past into a mission to save young lives.

Dwayne “Big Baby” Lagarde says he is living proof that change is possible.

“I know how it feels to be shot up and left on the ground for dead and not knowing if I’m going to live or not,” Lagarde said. “I know how it feels to be incarcerated. I know how it feels to be a child acting out because I think I’m not being heard.”…
