District Attorney looking to launch drone pilot program

PORT ALLEN, La. (WAFB) – Response times for 911 calls on the west side of the Mississippi River could change from minutes to seconds with a new drone pilot program.

At a recent Port Allen Neighborhood Watch meeting, District Attorney Tony Clayton said he is working to bring the program to Port Allen, New Roads and Plaquemine. The drones would allow law enforcement to have eyes on a scene before deputies arrive.
