Two arrested in drive-by shooting

Detectives with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office have arrested two suspects in connection to a drive-by shooting. Brock Burgess, 21, of Geismar, and Caden Holland, 21, of Prairieville, are charged with:

  • Drive-by shooting
  • Illegal use of weapons
  • Two counts of aggravated damage to property
  • Obstruction of justice

On March 11, at approximately 2:00a.m., deputies responded to reports of a shooting at a residence on W. Mill Grove in Gonzales. Upon arrival, deputies located two vehicles damaged by gunfire. Both vehicles were unoccupied, and there were no reported injuries.

During the investigation, detectives identified a suspect vehicle owned by Brock Burgess, who was driving the vehicle at the time of the shooting. Detectives also identified a second occupant, Caden Holland, who is believed to be the shooter. Detectives believe this was a targeted incident.

Arrest warrants were executed on both suspects, and they were booked into the Ascension Parish Jail. This is an ongoing investigation…
