BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — An Elayn Hunt Correctional Center employee has been arrested and is no longer with the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections.
Officials confirmed that Cadet Trenda D. Parker was arrested on March 25. The Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office charged her with malfeasance in office.
According to arrest documents, the investigation began after a cell phone was seized from an inmate at the facility on March 24. The phone was later turned over to the Louisiana State Police for analysis, but while in an investigator’s possession, it began receiving a call.
