Baton Rouge’s parks agency is moving forward with plans to sell eight parks in north Baton Rouge, despite opposition from area residents.
A packed BREC Commission meeting that had attendees spill over into an overflow room saw the commission vote yes on the plans to put the parks up for sale, while residents strongly opposed the move.
The commission declared all eight parks obsolete and introduced ordinances to sell those properties, with final hearings set for April 23.
