Addis: Speeding truck leads to two-vehicle crash with injuries

ADDIS — Four people have been hospitalized after a crash in West Baton Rouge Parish Monday evening.

It was around 6:30 p.m. when officials tell UWK that the driver of a black pick-up truck was northbound on the service road for La 1, at speeds upwards of 75-80 mph, refusing to stop at any stop signs.

That’s when an Addis Police officer saw it on the newly installed traffic cameras and attempted to stop the truck. Before the officer could make it to the driver, an SUV was headed south on the service road was struck head-on by the pick-up truck, who failed to stop at the sign. The impact threw the SUV into the Benedetto’s sign with the pick-up landing on the opposite side of the roadway of the service road.

The SUV’s driver was taken to a hospital. Three people were inside the pick-up truck and all three were also transported to a hospital…
