Baton Rouge families honor loved ones lost to violence at Easter bash

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Families gathered Sunday afternoon (Apr. 5) to celebrate the lives of loved ones lost to violence at the fourth annual K-Day Stop the Violence Easter Bash on Rio Drive.

Derrick Stewart attended the event to honor his daughter Laderica, who died in a hit-and-run crash last March. The 22-year-old was killed in the deadly incident.

“I’ll travel all around, and so, so I see it all over. Not just Baton Rouge, you know what I’m saying, all over America,” Stewart said. “We gotta do a whole lot better.”
