Baton Rouge pet-friendly gala raises money for Companion Animal Alliance

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Companion Animal Alliance (CAA) is hosting its annual Furball, an event raising money for the Baton Rouge animal shelter’s services.

CAA is the only open intake shelter in the city, housing thousands of animals each year. Plenty of work is done year-round to feed the animals, clean them, clean their enclosures and take care of their medical needs. These services require money, and one way to make sure financial needs are met is by having fun, fundraising events such as the pet-friendly Furball.

This year’s goal is to raise $500,000. All proceeds go back to Companion Animal Alliance for their services, vaccine clinics and other events…
