Louisiana bill could facilitate the moving of Confederate statues to state parks

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A bill is making its way through the Louisiana Legislature, which would affect publicly owned statues and monuments that were removed from public view in the state on or after August 1, 2006.

RepresentativeMike Bayham (R-LA) authored House Bill 1215, which would “require certain historical statues and monuments to be transferred to the office of state parks.”
