Among the hundreds of rums distilled in the United States, only a handful can claim “single estate” status, the farm-to-bottle model with fields, mill and distillery all under common ownership. Oxbow Rum Distillery in Point Coupee Parish is one of them.
The distillery grows its own sugar cane at Alma Plantation, grinds it at its own mill and distills it less than 20 miles away in downtown Baton Rouge.
