LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A California prison inmate and his Nevada wife, who is currently on supervised release, face federal charges in an extortion plot that targeted a married woman in the Seattle area.
An FBI agent’s affidavit attached to a criminal complaint describes how the inmate, D’Andre Davis, first contacted the victim on social media with a plea for money so he could take care of his sick mother. When the woman agreed, Davis continued to ask for money as they developed a relationship beginning in 2021 through texts, phone calls and video chats. Eventually, they exchanged sexually explicit photos.
Davis used a contraband cell phone to communicate with the victim and others, including Nicole Nowak, who at the time was serving a seven-year sentence in federal prison on a conviction of brandishing a firearm while committing a carjacking. Nowak got out in March 2024 and is on supervised release until March 2029.
