KING COUNTY — Leaders of the King County Regional Homelessness Authority (KCRHA) defended the agency’s financial management after a forensic evaluation found major deficiencies, telling King County councilmembers that millions of dollars flagged by auditors may reflect reimbursements that were never billed, not missing taxpayer money.
The briefing to the King County Council’s Committee of the Whole on June 8 came months after an April audit detailed significant financial and operational problems at KCRHA and prompted some elected officials to call for dismantling the agency.
