21 Arrested in Multi-Agency Child Exploitation Operation in Washington

EDMONDS, WA — A multi-agency law enforcement operation targeting individuals suspected of attempting to sexually exploit children resulted in the arrest of 21 people in Snohomish County this week, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The operation, known as Operation Guardian, was led by the Washington State Patrol’s Missing and Exploited Children Task Force, a Washington State Internet Crimes Against Children affiliate. The effort brought together the Edmonds Police Department, numerous local law enforcement agencies and several state and federal partners. Cases are being forwarded to the Snohomish County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, which will determine what criminal charges will be filed.

Authorities said the investigation focused on suspects allegedly involved in the sexual abuse and exploitation of children.
