Seattle’s Chief Privacy Officer Ginger Armbruster, a longtime IT professional, and Jake Hammock, its chief information security officer, have left their positions after “a restructure of the department’s executive assignments,” Megan Erb, Seattle Information Technology communications manager, said.
The restructuring came at the direction of the city’s acting Chief Technology Officer Shannon Smith, who assumed the top IT job in city government June 8. Smith will remain in the “acting” position until her hire is confirmed by the Seattle City Council next month, Erb said.
“The duties of the chief privacy officer have been reassigned to team members as we no longer have one person assigned as chief privacy officer,” Erb said Tuesday via email. “We are in [the] process of shifting the chief information security officer position to increase oversight for this role.”…
