The arrests, made on Thursday and Friday, cap weeks of investigative work by the specialized unit tasked with tracking down high-risk offenders.
According to a Renton Police Department, WA Facebook post, the first case began on August 28 when officers responded to a domestic dispute in the 4700 block of Davis Avenue South. A victim reported that her ex-boyfriend had threatened to shoot up her home and beat her, but officers could not locate the suspect at the scene and instead stood outside the victim’s home while she gathered items to stay somewhere safe. Investigators later received detailed transcripts of the threats, according to the same post, and an attached body-camera transcript recorded September 3 at 11:07:52 a.m. is tied to the case.
On September 3, the Violent Crimes Unit located and arrested the first suspect in Renton on investigation of domestic violence felony harassment, per the department’s account. He is pictured in the department’s post wearing a black hoodie. The case is logged under number 26-6687, the post notes.
Second Case Involves Damaged Vehicle, Scrapes
The second case dates back to August 24, when officers responded to a reported assault in the 1700 block of Maple Valley Highway.
