Take Osceola as the departure point and Seattle as the destination. One possible rail plan runs east to Chicago on the California Zephyr before turning west on the Empire Builder. That is a substantial detour to accept before the main journey begins. It also needs a workable connection, not just two train names that happen to appear on the same national map.
A $214 budget is worth testing against that complete plan, but it should not be mistaken for a standing Amtrak offer.
