Arnies Restaurant on the Edmonds waterfront abruptly and permanently closed as of Monday, Sept. 21. They posted a sign on the door that stated: “After 45 years of service, Arnies Restaurant will close effective September 21, 2026. Unfortunately, the current business climate does not allow us to continue. We want to thank all of our loyal guests and the Edmonds community and beyond for your support over the years. There have been so many memories, friendships, first dates, holidays, birthdays, proposals, and Anniversaries. We will miss sharing these moments with you. With appreciation and gratitude, Arnies Restaurant Partners”.
I attempted to talk to someone in management, but no one was available nor willing to comment. On a personal note, Arnies was a place that my family enjoyed for seafood dishes as well as for the wonderful view of the port — especially at sunset.
Like so many customers, we have an unused gift card of significant value that we hope the Arnies Restaurant Partners will reimburse us for. I have reached out by email but have not heard anything in return. It may be wishful thinking, but since they have not formally applied for bankruptcy I am hopeful that they management will do the right thing. I met someone outside of Arnies who recently purchased $500 in gift cards and was told that the restaurant would be open until they started construction on the new planned hotel and restaurant venue.
In the meantime, I recommend that readers who have unused gift cards do two things:
- File a dispute with your credit card company for “unused services” and hope that the money is refunded to your credit card.
- File a formal complaint with the Washington Attorney General’s Office. Here are two links that you can use. I recommend that you file online as it only takes five minutes.
