Independent reporter Nick Shirley’s probe into rampant food stamp fraud on the streets of Seattle ended with him running away from angry suspected drug addicts, after one of his security guards had their gun stolen during a sidewalk skirmish with a group of homeless people.
The final seconds of Shirley’s Wednesday report showed him and his crew sprinting down the sidewalk as they darted to jump in a car.
“This is arguably one of the most dangerous situations I’ve ever been in,” another one of Shirley’s security guys told him when he jumped inside a car and started speeding off to safety. “You’re being targeted right now. Everyone’s saying ‘Nick Shirley’s here! Nick Shirley’s here!'”…
