The man accused of brutally attacking two people with a machete in Seattle’s Hing Hay Park had a previous assault conviction, six pending criminal cases in Washington and two arrest warrants issued in just two and a half months before the attack.
King County prosecutors charged Oniel George Bygrave, 44, on Friday with first-degree assault and second-degree assault, both carrying deadly weapon enhancements, following Tuesday’s attack in Seattle’s Chinatown-International District. He remains jailed on $500,000 bail.
