Two bins of undelivered mail containing election ballots were discovered inside a dumpster at a popular Seattle park, prompting a federal investigation and raising concerns among residents about mail theft during the election season.
The discovery happened at Golden Gardens Park in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood, where election officials recovered multiple ballots that had apparently been discarded along with regular mail before reaching their intended recipients.
In a report for FOX 13 Seattle, reporter Jennifer Dowling spoke with park visitors about the discovery and explained how King County Elections responded, including issuing replacement ballots to affected voters and notifying federal postal authorities.
