Eastbound I-90 drivers are close to getting their HOV lane back in Factoria. The fish passage project under the freeway is in its final months.
The lane has been closed for several years as the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) undertook one of its most complex fish passage projects to date. The state was tasked with replacing an old concrete culvert that was more than 50 feet below the freeway. It was greatly restricting fish passage in Sunset Creek.
Nearly all the work above the creek is done, and the eastbound I-90 HOV lane should reopen before the end of the year…
