An individual from Washington has become the third American to die from bird flu complications, health officials have announced.
The patient, from Yakima County, about 140 miles southeast of Seattle, died from ‘complications of avian influenza,’ or H5N1, after being ‘hospitalized with severe illness,’ the health department said Sunday.
