Seattle taxpayers fund hotel stay for asylum-seeking families awaiting more support

SEATTLE – When a group of refugees from South America had nowhere to go, Seattle taxpayers covered their stay in a hotel in the city of Kent. As state leaders are currently scrambling to get help from the federal government, Seattle confirmed Monday that they’ll be footing the bill for three more weeks, according to the city of Seattle. The city also noted their checkout date will be Feb. 26.
