Snow is in the forecast with a winter weather advisory in effect for south Puget Sound lowlands, according to the National Weather Service in Seattle.
An incoming storm is expected to bring a mix of wintry conditions from Wednesday evening through Friday morning.
Snow levels will fall as low as 500-600 feet early Thursday morning, the NWS said. A rain and snow mix could fall in Tacoma beginning Thursday morning.
Travelers through the Cascades should expect winter driving conditions. Some passes may close. Up to 18 inches of snow could fall around White Pass by Friday afternoon, the NWS said.
In Tacoma, there’s an 18 percent chance that more than one inch of snow will accumulate by Friday.
Winds will gust 10-15 miles per hour beginning Wednesday evening and last into Thursday night, the NWS said.
Temperatures will hover around freezing Thursday morning and dip to around 30 on Friday.
