Kent Police: Man admits to attacking woman after he’s arrested wearing the same clothes

Kent Police say a man from Covington is facing charges after he violently attacked a woman, and admitted to it.

It took officers 48 hours to track down 26-year-old Troy Walton.

According to the department, he attacked the 29-year-old on the morning of September 15 near Central Avenue North.

Court documents state that the woman was walking home from the transit station, when she was jumped from behind, dragged into the bushes, punched her multiple times, and strangled until she blacked out.

She was on the phone with her mother at the time of the attack, the documents state, because it was her first time riding the bus home and she was nervous.

The woman told officers that when she woke up, she found the man sexually assaulting her.

According to court documents, she bit his hand hard enough that he let go, and she was able to escape.

The next day, detectives canvassed the area for surveillance footage. Kent police say they found clear images of the suspect and shared them with patrol officers.
