Rain and Wind Expected Tonight Across Western Washington

Western Washington is gearing up for another round of rain and gusty winds as a weather system moves into the region tonight. According to the National Weather Service, rain will begin on the coast this afternoon and spread eastward by evening, impacting areas from the Olympic Peninsula to Puget Sound.

Gusty winds are anticipated, particularly in parts of western Whatcom and Skagit counties and the San Juan Islands, where gusts could approach low-end Wind Advisory levels. While widespread impacts aren’t expected, residents should prepare for potential isolated power outages or downed tree branches.

The system is expected to taper off by Friday morning, with drier conditions returning through the weekend. Daytime highs will stay mild, ranging from the lower to mid-60s. Early next week may see a series of weaker systems, but for now, a dry weekend is in store for the region.
