Seahawks injuries: Two more cornerbacks go down in painful loss to 49ers

The Seattle Seahawks had a promising comeback going in the second half against the San Francisco 49ers , but in the end they couldn’t complete it. Seattle lost its third straight game of the season and the sixth straight overall against San Francisco, 36-24. There’s not a whole lot of silver linings from this one, aside from a splash play here and there. The team’s already-bad injury situation on defense got even worse, too.

Already missing star right boundary cornerback Riq Woolen, the Seahawks lost two more corners to injuries during tonight’s game. Specifically, Artie Burns left the game with a toe injury after just getting signed off the practice squad. Also, Tre Brown was ruled out with what was first called a hand injury but later changed to an ankle issue, per team beat reporter John Boyle.

Coby Bryant and Nehemiah Pritchett should see more action if Brown and Burns have to sit out next week. However, exactly who the next men up for the team’s upcoming game against the Atlanta Falcons is up for debate, because Seattle’s depth chart wasn’t designed to handle this many injuries at once.
