Every year I tell myself I’m not going to wait until the last minute to buy Christmas presents. Most years it turns out I’m lying to myself, but every once in a while, I get it right. There are so many opportunities to attend craft fairs and holiday markets throughout November and December this year that I really think I stand a chance of being done with gift buying well before the holidays. I also love the opportunity to support independent artists and local businesses whenever possible.
This weekend, 3 different kinds of arts & crafts events are taking place.
The Northwest Art Alliance is holding their 36th annual Best of the Northwest show in Magnuson Park in Seattle. This curated show is always stunning, with some of the finest craftspeople around. Art, ceramics, clothing, leather goods, hand-blown glass, and much more are offered.
Do you have geeks, nerds or weirdos to shop for? White elephant gifts to find? You might enjoy the Oddmall Emporium of the Weird Creepsmas craft show in Monroe. This one is fun, and just as odd as you might imagine. You’ll find things here you won’t find anywhere else. Held on the grounds of the Evergreen State Fair, the show is free to enter and it gets bigger every year.
