Thousands of Washington residents are left in the dark after a wintry mix of precipitation entered the state on Tuesday.
As of 8:48 a.m. PT Wednesday, the Evergreen State had over 88,000 reported power outages, according to a USA TODAY power outage tracker .
Of the 4.7 million residents that are being tracked, King County leads the number of power outages with 37,000. Pierce County has the second highest outages at over 29,000.
Tacoma Public Utilities is working to restore power.
“We are aware of numerous outages across our service area this morning due to the wind storm, affecting about 11,000 customers. Crews are working to safely and quickly restore power,” the electric service company said in a statement.

NWS predicts wintry weather in Washington
On Tuesday, the National Weather Service (NWS) predicted that rainfall and wintry precipitation was expected in the mountains with snow fall of up to four to eight inches.
