Man napping in Seattle parking garage wakes up to fire in passenger seat

A man was rushed to the hospital after he woke up to a fire inside his car.

It happened in an underground parking garage on Boren Avenue in Seattle.

Firefighters tell KIRO 7 that the man was taking a nap in his vehicle around noon when he awoke to a fire in his passenger seat.

The man, who only has one leg, was able to escape but was taken to Harborview Medical Center because of some burns.

The Hill 7 building, home to HBO and WeWork, as well as the Hilton Garden Hotel were evacuated while the fire was extinguished.

“We were just having our regular day and the fire alarm went off,” a worker told KIRO 7. “We didn’t think anything of it, but apparently there was a fire and we started smelling smoke.”

No word what caused the fire.
