Winter Storm Warning

Sunday: Expect a wet start to Sunday, and a very wintry start to Snoqualmie Pass. In fact, it’ll be snowing for most of the day for our Cascade passes. We’d highly recommend against traveling in the Cascades for Sunday—unless you absolutely have to. The Lower Yakima Valley, basin, and foothills should trend much drier by the late morning to early afternoon. However, rain chances will stick around throughout the day for the Kittitas Valley. No surprise here: Sunday will be a mostly cloudy to overcast day. Highs will be noticeably cooler compared to Saturday, but we’ll still be about 5-10 degrees above average for late December. Highs will be in the 30s and 40s. South-westerly winds will pick up throughout the day for the Blues, eventually spilling over into the Blue Foothills and Lower Columbia Basin after lunchtime. Gusts will peak around 20 MPH for the basin, although they’ll be much stronger during the early evening. They’ll peak between 45-50 MPH for the Blues and foothills during the late afternoon to early evening.
