Redesigned in 2024, the 2025 Toyota Tacoma rolls into the new year with some notable changes.
Front tow hooks are now standard on all models, the “Terra” paint scheme is now available on all Tacoma TRDs, and auxiliary switches move up from a 30-amp capacity to 95-amp capacity. There’s also a new TRD Pro color available dubbed “Mud Bath.”

For the unaware, Toyota completely redesigned the Tacoma’s powertrain last year. While the changes were mostly welcome, some Tacoma fans were displeased, and many lamented the loss of the old V6, while others were skeptical about the new, optional hybrid’s long-term reliability.

One thing is for sure, though: Toyota is taking the rebirth of the Tacoma seriously. They want to make sure they keep their best-selling sales title and bring in new customers. The thing is, Ford, GM, Nissan, and Honda aren’t lying down, and they offer some compelling alternatives. Can Toyota maintain its sales dominance?
