Rain and Snow to Hit Western Washington This Weekend

Western Washington is bracing for a rainy and breezy Sunday as an atmospheric river moves into the region, according to the NWS Seattle Office. The National Weather Service forecasts heavy precipitation, increasing snow levels, and gusty winds from March 23 to 24. Snow levels will initially range from 3500 to 4500 feet, affecting Stevens Pass and the North Cascades, with up to 11 inches of snow expected.

In addition to the mountain snow, rain totals could reach 3 to 6 inches along the western slopes of the Olympics and Cascades, with localized amounts up to 8 inches. Winds will also pick up, with gusts of 20 to 40 mph, especially near Everett and the south Washington coast.
