Seattle, WA – Severe thunderstorms are expected to impact much of Western Washington late Wednesday afternoon through the evening, bringing threats of large hail, damaging winds, and isolated tornadoes.
According to the National Weather Service in Seattle, thunderstorms could begin as early as 5 p.m. in Forks and Port Angeles, reaching the Seattle metro area around 6–7 p.m. and continuing east into the Cascades by 8 p.m. Forecasters estimate a 10% chance of hail up to 2 inches in diameter and wind gusts over 58 mph. Brief, isolated tornadoes are also possible in parts of the Puget Sound region.
The most significant risks are centered around the I-5 corridor from Olympia through Seattle up to Everett and Bellingham.
