Lightning causes power outages across western Washington, affecting Sound Transit services

WASHINGTON STATE — Thunderstorms across western Washington have begun causing power outages in the region.

As of 9:40 p.m., about 300 people are without power in south Seattle, according to Seattle City Light, which said the outage was caused by lightning. For the latest outage numbers, visit the Seattle City Light outage map.
