Rare marine life to be revealed by low tides in western Washington this week

WESTERN WASHINGTON, Wash. — Sea critters normally hiding under the sea will be uncovered this week, thanks to low tide.

Beachgoers in western Washington will get a special viewing opportunity along the shorelines to see starfish, sea slugs, and other marine life.

While Tuesday’s low tide will be the weakest of the 28-day tide cycle, Wednesday, April 30, at 1:28 p.m. will dip -3.38′ below what’s called Mean Lower Low Water level (MLLW) — that’s the average of the lower of the two diurnal, or daily low tide levels, throughout the year…
