SEATTLE — A 51-year-old man police described as “armed and dangerous” was arrested after a lengthy standoff at an apartment complex in Seattle’s Lake City neighborhood Thursday morning.
The Seattle Police Department first reported the standoff at Polaris at Lake City, located on the 12500 block of Lake City Way Northeast, on X shortly after 9:30 a.m. Thursday. The department said officers, along with members of the SWAT and hostage negotiation teams, were attempting to take a suspect who was barricaded inside an apartment into custody.
A detective at the scene told KOMO News “two or three” girls or women were also inside the apartment, but were not considered hostages – they just did not want to leave.
